FARMYARD antics have gone slightly crazy in one corner of the region where an unlikely partnership has formed between a turkey, a bullock and a quad bike.
Trevor the turkey has already showed off his abilities to walk the tightrope, jump through hoops of fire and ride on a quad bike at Selleybridge Farm, Low Marishes, near Malton.
But now the talented bird has a contender for the limelight, as Tommy the bullock has impressed onlookers with his affections for the four-wheeled machine.
Ten-month-old Tommy appears at his happiest when tethered to the quad bike and taken for his regular exercise by farmer Colin Newlove and feathered-friend Trevor.
"It is quite remarkable really that a beast like Tommy would even come near the bike, but he has such a good nature that he seems to enjoy the walks," said Mr Newlove.
The farmer is expecting to show Tommy at agricultural events next year and so takes him out exercising about four times a week.
"Most people walk their bullocks and it just occurred to me that they must walk miles.
"Tommy seems to like the quad, so what better way than to keep him in shape? It is certainly a lot easier on my legs," said Mr Newlove.
"Trevor sits on the front of the quad bike while Tommy walks behind and they seem to enjoy each other's company."
