COUNCILLORS are being urged to approve plans for 32 flats to be built in Darlington.
Maro Developments is expected to win backing for the scheme in Woodland Road.
It would see the properties built on the site of a former petrol station and an area to the rear of Cockerton Club.
A decision on whether it could go ahead was delayed at a planning committee meeting earlier this year, because councillors were concerned about the scale of the development. But they are likely to approve it on Wednesday after amendments were made by the developers.
Darlington Borough Council's planning department received 42 letters of objection to the original proposal, concerning privacy, noise levels and provision for children.
Council officers say many of the concerns have been addressed in the new application
