ENTREPRENEUR Tony Reay found himself in a sticky situation yesterday.
The drama began when Mr Reay discovered that hundreds of jars of flavoured British honey, manufactured through the Kidhugs business run by him and his wife, Linda, were inside his car when it was stolen.
The Vauxhall Cavalier was taken from outside their Darlington home in the early hours of yesterday morning, with the rum, toffee, blueberry, chocolate and other flavoured delicacies inside.
The couple, who have run the company from home in the Red Hall area for the past two years, had returned late from a show on Tuesday night and decided to leave the stock in the vehicle.
They were shocked to discover it missing the following morning.
Fortunately for the Reays, a man walking his dog in the nearby village of Middleton One Row found the jars in a field yesterday afternoon. The car had earlier been dumped in the Cockerton area of Darlington.
Mr Reay said last night: "It's a relief. We are trying to help British bee-keeping but we would have had trouble without this stuff."
