MORE than 300 sailors, buccaneers and solders will re-enact the Battle of Trafalgar this weekend.
The re-enactment will recreate attempts by Napoleonic forces to capture British frigates in 1805. It will take place at Hartlepool's Historic Quay from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
As well as musket, sword and pike fights in the quay area, press gangs will be looking for recruits in the town's Middleton Grange Shopping Centre.
The battle will be staged by the Northern Re-enactment Society with members of Nottingham's Napoleonic Society.
Normal entrance fees to the Quay apply. Admission to the neighbouring Museum of Hartlepool and the paddle steamer Wingfield Castle is free
