Sunday's Inov-8 proved a popular event with nearly 200 people running the eight-mile trial run in Hamsterley Forest.

The event was staged to raise funds for Weardale's Search & Rescue Team Stan's Van Appeal, and although the precise figure has yet to be finalised, around £600 was raised. A big thanks goes to organiser Kev Shevels and also Inov8 for providing the excellent prizes. Each year the race will be run at a difference venue around the Durham Dales, so for those who missed out, watch the local press for details this time next year.

Congratulations to Wayne Bramley who competed in this years Great North Run in an excellent time of 1:19:03 to finish 133rd overall.
