After the first two weeks in the newly-formed League, East Durham Cadets, Boldon and Newcastle A are equal top of the under-12s league with the maximum 12 points each.
Wearmouth and Newcastle share top place in the under-10s league with ten points each. Boldon under-16s have comfortably won both their games to top their league, and Cramlington A are top of the under-14s having won their only game so far.
"The main reaction from all concerned is that it does not matter who wins the league as long as the girls are playing football," said Durham FA secretary John Topping. The under-10s and under-12s leagues are now full with twelve teams each, but there are still vacancies in the under-14s and under-16s.
Matches are played on Saturdays at two venues, Chester le Street Riverside and East Durham & Houghall College, Peterlee, when each team plays two thirty minute games.
