WALKERS have swapped the streets of Hambleton's town for White Horse Bank as part of a new venture in a programme of walks.
Sixty regular Hambleton Strollers gathered at Sutton Bank, near Thirsk, to walk to the White Horse.
They then enjoyed a picnic at the North York Moors Visitor Centre.
"The views across Hambleton were spectacular," said Strollers co-ordinator Marion Archer.
"This is the first time we have gathered our walkers and leaders from all the market towns in one place and it was a huge success.
"We hope these walks will become a regular feature of the usual strolling programme in the towns."
The strollers are holding an informal training day in Northallerton on November 11 for anyone interested in becoming a voluntary walk leader. Details are available from Ms Archer on (01609) 767276 or 07812 088610.
