Chester-le-Street moved to the top of the table with a 4-2 victory at Consett. They established a two goals interval lead through Ian Glazinski and Gavin Stoker. Andrew Whitfield and Andrew Morgan were on target for the Steelmen during the second 45 minutes, but the Cestrians took the points with further goals from Andrew Belford and Chris Laing. Chester-le-Street have now won five of their six games and enjoy a one-point lead over New Hartley who have played one game more.
New Hartley hammered Prudhoe Town 9-0 scoring five times in the first period. James Brown (3), Graham Cairns (2), Lee Dixon, Simon Gourlay, Daniel Ternent and Scott Westaway all found the net for New Hartley.
