Durham City played three matches in eight days and continued their promising start to the new season.
On Sunday, October 5 City recorded a 2-1 victory against Killingworth in the league thanks to goals by strikers Emma Collinson and Becky Welch.
On Tuesday, October 7 Durham City played Saltburn at New Ferens Park under floodlights. Unfortunately City couldn't manage a win, but a 2-2 draw means that they climb into the top half of the Northern League First Division.
This is a great achievement for the club who only just avoided relegation last season. Goal scorers that night were student Mel Jones and last season's top scorer Helen Richardson.
On Sunday, October 12 Durham City progressed to the quarter finals of the Bill Godard Cup by comfortably beating Glendale 6-0. Amongst the goals again was Emma Collinson who notched her second hat-trick of the season.
Collinson, from Ushar Moor, is only 17 and she really has been the find of the season for City, scoring eight goals in her first ever ten senior games.
