Willington League: There was a shake up at the top of the table when the leaders, Hunwick Joiners Arms crashed at home to Willington Club, taking only one point in the process.

This meant that the Club went to the top of the table with a one point advantage over the Joiners.

Willington Lion and Unicorn should have taken advantage of this result to move into the top spot when they visited bottom of the table, Willington Black Horse Tavern but were taken to the deciding doubles before winning and moving one point behind the Joiners Arms.

The Black Horse Tavern had singles wins from Eddie Haig and Aynsley Rainbow with Laurie Norman and Aynsley Rainbow adding a doubles point to level with the Unicorn's singles wins from Phil Allison, Arthur Goldsborough and Kevin Bake. In the deciding doubles the Unicorn's Kevin Hill with Arthur Goldsborough beat Gary Brunskill and Eddie Haig.

District League

Tow Law New Market A prevented their hosts at New House Club from moving closer to the top of the table when they won in the decider. This left the home side in second place, three points behind the leaders, Tow Law Football Club, but two points ahead of Tow Law Dan's Castle B.

Terry Taylor put the New Market A ahead but Rob Day levelled. Tom Dowson restored the visitors' lead only to see Harry Dinsdale equalise. In the decider Dale Duxfield took the visitors to victory by beating Graeme Thompson against the down.

Tow Law Dan's Castle B strengthened their third place after they only dropped one point on their visit to Tow Law New Market B, who had Ray Weir as their only winner. The Castle winners were Dave Riches, Paul Murray, Anthony Lee and David Murray.

Esh McKenna's equalled their best victory of the season and showed they had recovered from the previous two defeats when they only dropped two points at Sunniside Comedian, a result that allowed them to resume their top place in the table, but this time they have to share it with Esh Stag's Head.

The Comedian only managed one singles point when David Thompson won to add to their one doubles, whilst McKenna's had singles points from Enid Starr, Charlie Leigh, Joe Starr, Mark Davis and Alan Hennigan to add to their two doubles wins.

The joint leaders are now five points ahead of Billy Row Club, with Tow Law New Market B a further three points adrift.

Hunwick Quarry managed to make their first win of the season with the Prospect Club succeeding in winning their second of the season. The Quarry travelled to the second placed Sunnybrow Brown Trout and had singles wins from Glynn Donnelly, Davey Robson and Oliver Gray, whilst the Trout replied with wins from Ian Stoker and Craig Heslop. The Prospect Club made their second win of the season with success in the decider at Willington New Inn. John Woods put the Prospect ahead but then the hosts had wins from Dessie Ayre and Phil Blyth. Ces Atkinson levelled the match and then the prospect went to victory when Derek Peacock beat Phil Cater in the decider.
