A nationwide appeal has gone out for information on the whereabouts of a 17-year-old who is missing from home.
The Asian teenager Shefilea, from the Warrington area, was last seen on the evening of Thursday, September 11 and concerns are now mounting regarding her welfare and well-being.
Police are not releasing the teenager's surname for operational reasons.
Shefilea was being treated for an Oesophageal restriction, a medical condition affecting her throat and stomach. She failed to attend hospital for an appointment on Friday, September 12 and doctors have stated that without special treatment she may now be unable to swallow liquids.
Shefilea is described as 5ft 3 tall, slim in build, with brown eyes, dark brown hair, worn below her shoulder with blonde streaks, and with pierced ears. She is believed to be wearing western style clothing.
At the time of leaving home she is believed to have been in possession of a small black handbag with white diagonal stripes on it and a plastic bag with the 'New Look' motif on it.
She may be wearing a gold ring with a green stone on her index finger and a gold ring with a white diamond, and a gold necklace with the initial 'S' attached.
Anyone in the medical profession who has knowledge of an Asian young woman of this age, who is receiving medical attention, is encouraged to contact the police. The calls will be treated in the strictest confidence.
Police in Warrington are appealing for anyone who may know her whereabouts to contact them on (01244) 613833 or the National Missing Persons Helpline on 0500 700700.
