A COUNCIL is encouraging people to attend council meetings and see the decision making process in action.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is changing the starting times of its main meetings from 2pm to 6pm so that the public can attend.
Glyn Nightingale, cabinet member for corporate resources, said: "Our meetings have always been open to the public, but we believe our residents, particularly those who are working, will now have more opportunity to come and see the decision-making process."
He said it would also offer the chance for people who may be interested in becoming councillors to discover what it involves.
Cabinet meetings will now be held every month at 6pm at Eston Town Hall instead of 2pm. The next full council meeting, held every six weeks in the town hall, is on Thursday, November 13, at 6pm.
