NS Bulls Head 1 N Skelton Village 4: With both sides still chasing their first league win of the season, something had to give in the North Skelton derby and it was the Village who came out on top despite a spirited display from the Bull's Head.
With centre back Dave Cairnes, pillar of strength at the back, North Skelton had the better of the first half that saw them race into a 4-0 lead.
Lee Preston scored twice while Tony McCabe and Dave Hitchin made their contribution with a goal apiece.
The second half saw the Bull's Head trying hard to get back into the game and they gained some reward for their efforts when their man of the match Ewan McGee headed home.
British S S 3 Linx Hemlington
Having beaten Linx two weeks ago in the Arthur Reed Shield, British Steel Sports produced an action replay to secure their first league win of the season. Having just seen Linx going close midway through the half, Sports counter attacked to score with Andrew Noble heading home Ian Keogh's cross.
Ten minutes later, Keogh got his own name on the score sheet heading home the rebound from his earlier shot. With the second half just minutes old, Keogh struck again fending off two defenders before firing home from just inside the area.
Linx reduced the arrears later in the game, but they struggled to penetrate the Sports defence for a second time.
Thornaby Vill 1 St Mary's Coll OB 1
A scrappy first half saw the College having the better of the attempts on goal but only once managing to get past the Village keeper to lead at the break.
In the second period, the Village were once again thankful for an outstanding display from their keeper and they were rewarded for their efforts with an equaliser late on in the game.
Black Horse 3 Kings Head 11
Black Horse got off to a flier when Mark Dawson put them ahead with a shot from ten yards out that went in off the post. Sadly for the home side, the Kings Head responded in deadly fashion firing five goals home before half time.
They added a sixth shortly after the interval before the Black Horse raised their hopes with goals from Shaun Murray and Mark Dawson.
Once again this only produced another King's Head backlash with five goals going in quick succession.
Thornaby Mandale 9 PJS 1
PJS were another side to find themselves up against a Thornaby Mandale side that were in goalscoring mode. Three up at half time thanks to goals from Andrew Dyson, Steve Lambert and John Gittens, Mandale increased the pressure in the second period.
Dyson and Lambert added to their earlier goals while Lee O Toole scored twice himself.
Damion O Hara and Steve Bell were also on the score sheet for Mandale.
