A MALTON man was judged the smartest standard bearer at the annual reunion of The Green Howards Association.
Geoff Buxton was judged the best out of 11 bearers at the Territorial Army Centre, in Scarborough, which attracted more than 300 former Green Howards from all parts of the country.
Mr Buxton led the march along church parade and then past the Colonel of the Regiment, Brigadier John Powell.
Brig Powell presented gold award badges to 12 members who have had 50 years' connection with the regiment since they joined, and silver awards to six men with 25 years' connection.
