A CHARITY aerobathon and auction aims to raise thousands of pounds for breast cancer research at the weekend.
The event has been arranged by Loraine Pickering, who owns a Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness Club franchise.
The aerobathon will be held on Saturday, at Darlington College of Technology, from 2pm.
It is being supported by Alisdair MacConachie, chairman of the Darlington Partnership and managing director of Sherwoods car dealers.
The exercise will last for about an hour, after which there will be an auction from 3pm.
Amongst the lots on offer are a pamper day at Hardwick Hall Hotel, near Sedgefield, a mountain bike, restaurant meals and cuddly toys.
Mrs Pickering, who runs classes in Ferryhill, Newton Aycliffe, Shildon, Sedgefield, Darlington and Redworth Hall, says she hopes to raise about £3,000 for the Breast Cancer Campaign.
She said: "Throughout the country Rosemary Conley clubs are doing something somewhere, Last year we raised half-a-million pounds and this year we are aiming to beat it."
