RESIDENTS have opposed plans for a bungalow in their area.
They fear that the demolition of outbuildings in order to build the detached home would damage the character of Borrage Green Lane, in Ripon, which has no houses on its south side.
Harrogate Borough Council's Ripon area planning committee will hear their concerns when it discusses the proposal tomorrow.
Councillors will hear that residents expressed concern about the design of the bungalow because of the impact on local listed buildings.
They also criticised plans for the access off the A61 Ripon-Harrogate road because they said it would be dangerous.
Planning officer Mike Warden has recommended refusal, citing the loss of industrial and business premises, of which there was a shortage, and that the design would be out of character for the area.
