HOSPICE fundraisers are counting on the fear factor to bring in the money at a Halloween event.
Sixth form students from Spennymoor School are the terrible team providing the thrills for visitors to folk hero Bobby Shafto's former home, Whitworth Hall and Country Park, on Monday.
The event, a Scary Walk around the hall's walled garden, is already a sell-out success for organisers The Butterwick Hospice at Bishop Auckland. With all the £5 tickets snapped up for party food and a session in Bobby Shafto's Playbarn, the hospice is now selling Walk Only tickets at £2 for children and £1 50p for accompanying adults.
Fundraiser Sylvia Stoneham said: "It is a huge success. The sixth formers have done a fantastic job. They will really add to the atmosphere."
The Scary Walk will be from 6pm to 8pm. For information call (01388) 603003.
