A TEESSIDE rowing club is celebrating after scoring successes in a rowing competition in Durham City at the weekend.
Tees Rowing Club sent a strong contingent to the Wear Scullers Head of the River in which 115 crews took part in the 2.4km race upstream.
Chris Kenyon, of Tees Rowing Club, won the veteran single sculls event in a time of 7min 50.6sec. It was Chris's second victory in successive weeks, having won the Wansbeck Scullers Head last week.
Paul Buckworth won the Senior One event in a time of 7min 3.1sec and was second fastest single sculler overall.
Angela Warburton and Janet Wilkinson, national veteran double sculls champions, from Tees, won their veteran event in 8min 12.2sec. The club's Bob Bainbridge and Paul Reevel won the veteran double sculls event in 7min 8.3sec.
Ian Smith and John Harrison won the senior four double sculls event, their second success in the sculling series.
The event was organised by Durham City Rowing Club and the Northern Rowing Council.
