STAFF from Zoolab, an interactive animal workshop group, visited Haughton Community School in Darlington to teach students about an array of weird and wonderful creatures.
Students from most year groups saw millipedes, spiders, red-bellied toads, giant African snails, rats and snakes.
The visit was arranged as part of the pupils' learning about food chains and the environment in the rainforest.
