FOUR young musicians from Richmond are among dozens from across the country taking part in a project that will culminate in the release of a compilation CD.
Teenagers Ed Spear, Johnny Parker, Jonathan Moss and Toby Anderson have already spent a day in recording studios in Leeds working on a folk-influenced indie/pop track with producer Will Jackson.
Their work will be matched with tracks from another six groups around the UK.
Seven youngsters will then be chosen to work in London on a track for a Cre8 CD, which will be released next month.
The aim is to celebrate the achievements of Youth Music Action Zones, set up to build partnerships between different organisations and to provide opportunities for young musicians - particularly those who might not otherwise have the chance.
All the youngsters taking part in the Cre8 scheme have participated in activities provided by one of the 20 Action Zones across the UK.
