A flood surgery is being held in Hambleton next week.
The surgery, in Northallerton, is part of the Environment Agency (EA)'s efforts to help people get the advice they need to prepare for flooding.
The event is linked to the national Flood Awareness Campaign.
EA staff will be available to speak to residents concerned about flooding and offer practical tips so they can be prepared.
Officers will also explain how the agency forecasts floods and how warnings are issued.
Flood warning campaign officer Katie Lovery said the surgery was an ideal chance for residents and businesses to find out what resources are available as well as raise any questions or concerns.
"We keep telling people they need to be prepared for a flood, and this surgery is a way of helping them do just that," she said.
"The agency spends millions in this region on flood defences and warning systems, but it is vital that individuals take action too."
The flood surgery will be at Hambleton council offices, at Stone Cross, on Monday, from 2pm to 8pm.
