Willington League: Willington Lion and Unicorn moved three points clear at the top of the table after they beat the visiting Byers Green Royal Oak by the odd point.
The home side had singles wins from Kevin bake, Arthur Goldsborough, John Bolam and Phil Allison, whilst the visitors replied with a singles win from John Allison and wins in the two doubles from Michael Hughes with Paul Kerr and Brian Sheldon with John Horsfall.
Willington Club and Hunwick Joiners Arms share second place in the table, as both trail the leaders by three points but are two ahead of the fourth placed Willington Cottles.

Crook League
Crook Royal Sun made their first win of the season when they only dropped two points at Crook Coach and Horses A, who had a singles point from Stuart hall and a doubles point from Paul Fiddis and Dave Acres. The Sun went to victory with singles wins from Graham Johnson, Cliffy Johnson, Barry Barker, Ian Shields and John Hunt.
Crook Queen's Head B only took one point from their home match against Crook Coach and Horses B when Malcolm Gibson and Dave Heslop took the doubles. The Coach took all the singles points through Eric Major, Gerald Parkin, Les Scott, David Stephenson, Stephen Burke and Dave Haygarth.
The top spot in the First Division is shared by Crook Travellers Rest B, Crook Mill House and Crook Belle Vue, whilst Willington Brewer's Droop lead the Second Division with a one point advantage over Crook Coach and Horses B.

In a remarkable top of the table clash the visiting Sunnybrow Brown Trout beat league leaders, Willington Cottles B in a match where all the winners took their points against the down. Dave Blackburn put the Trout ahead but Brett Fleming levelled. Steve Richardson restored the visitors' lead only to see Paul Trow equalise. In the decider Rita Welsh took the Trout to victory by beating Joe Bone.
Despite the defeat, Willington Cottles B remain at the top of the table with a two points advantage over Sunnybrow Brown Trout, with Willington Burn Inn a further two points adrift.

Esh Stag's Head took advantage of their neighbours, Esh McKenna's, to move five points clear at the top of the table after they beat their third placed hosts at Billy Row Club by the odd point. This left the Club one point behind McKenna's, who have a match in hand. The Stag's got away to a good start when they took the first three singles through Ray Brown, Colin Tomlinson and John Hodgson, but the home side levelled with wins from Harold Parkin, Bob Potts and Gordon Walsh. The visitors made certain of victory when they took the first two doubles, through Dave Metcalfe with John Hodgson and Ray Brown with Mally Walker. Harold Parkin and Bob Potts took the last doubles for Billy Row.
