A LEADING tourist attraction is celebrating the work of the region's army of volunteers.
Beamish Museum, near Chester-le-Street, County Durham, is hosting a series of activities to mark Make a Difference Day on Sunday. The national event aims to highlight voluntary work and encourage more people to give up their spare time for a good cause.
In the museum's Colliery village chapel, volunteers will be recreating Women's Bright Hour, a Methodist group dating from the early 1900s. Others will demonstrate quilt making.
