Division One: With only four weeks into the new season the Redcar Unionist's A team have once again made the headlines this week with a 5-1 home win against their local opponents Redcar Cons. A.
Paul Reeve was drawn first to play Mick McDermott. Reeve won the first game by 62-37 during which he compiled a 49 break. McDermott broke off in the second frame, Reeve's acknowledged a good break off shot and then replied with a breathtaking 105 break to win 105-0. The next two frames between Arthur Smith and Ian Whittle were shared with frame scores of 63-38 and 25-71. Barry Chapman then sealed the win aided by a 32 break in his second game beating Kelvin Pickthall by 60-26 and 61-2. Saltburn Cons A continued their unbeaten run when on there travels they beat Carlin How A 6-0.
Ennis Square A held Lune Street A to a 3-3 tie. Redcar Workies A recorded a 4-2 away win against New Marske A during which Richard Beckham compiled a 42 break. The Redcar Lakes A beat Carlin How B by 5-1. The remaining two games Guisborough T.A v Guisborough Cons. A and Redcar Lakes B v Guisborough Quoit ended as 3 - 3 ties.
Division Two
Result of the week was recorded by Val's Priory A who whitewashed Marske Workies B by 6-0. John Brachii started the ball rolling when beating Geoff Unthank in their first game by 50-39. Brachii won the next by 62-50 aided by an excellent 49 break. Barry Walker made it 4-0 after beating Ted Walker with scores of 50-20 and 64-16. Peter Dodgson then completed the rout taking both frames from Ian Walton with scores of 69-15 and 53-50. Redcar Unionist's B held the Redcar Cons B team to a 3-3 tie. South Bank Albion underlined their serious intention of lifting the second division title when they whitewashed the Lodge B 6-0. During this match Phil Hartley compiled a 32 break, John Hartley a 33 and Phil Carr chalked up three breaks of 35. The Lodge's A team faired better when they recorded a 5-1 home win against Redcar lakes D. Ennis Square B also chalked up a home win when when beating Marske Workies C 4-2. The Redcar lakes C team were on their travels to Brotton Workies where they won 4-2. In the final match of the week Redcar Workies B drew three each with Val's Priory B.
