The League's own cup ties and the Durham County Football Association Sunday Cup reduced the League's Programme.
Premiership leaders Hetton Lyons Cricket Club maintained top spot with a fine 3-0 home win over second bottom club Fishburn WMC. Last season's League Player of the Year Jason Ainsley hit one plus a strike each from Alan Dormund and sub Paul Hinton.
Houghton Glendale now appear to have got over their early season loss of form as they beat visitors Brandon United 2-0. Phil Oliver and Christian Robson the marksmen.
In the only game played in the First Division, Sunderland Lakeside crashed to a 3-1 home defeat from visitors Brandon Bay Horse. Paul Russell got the Lakeside goal.
In the Third Qualifying round of the Durham Football Association Sunday Cup, Chester-le-Street Horner's progressed to the First Round proper by beating visitors Billingham Merlin 5-4 in a very entertaining game. Top marksman for Horner's was Mickey Anderson scoring four and Mike Renshaw added the fifth.
Leaders in the Gateshead Sunday League, Gateshead Teams Social Club, found visitors Esh Winning McKenna too strong. Esh were the stronger of the two teams winning the tie 5-1. Top marksman was Aaron Scott who hit four goals and a penalty by Dean Taylor completed the scoring.
Wittin Gilbert WMC were winners at Stormont Main. Fatfield North Biddick beat visitors Hartlepool Ye Olde Durham's and Burn Moor CC were too strong for Easington CIU.
In the KJM League Cup second round tie, Premier side Sherburn Lambton Arms were too strong for the home side Newton Aycliffe WMC. Goals from Andy Coalthard, Terry Patterson, Chris Gillespie, Tony Simpson and Graham Best gave the Premier side a fine 5-0 away win.
Chilton WMC were 3-2 home winners over Washington Dunlop Tyres. Dave Pybus hit the two Dunlop Goals.
In the Racing Promotions Trophy Second Round First Division, Lumley were winners against Premier League side Spennymoor Quinns. After 90 minutes the scores were level at 1-1 despite Lumley missing two penalties in the game. The golden-goal failed to produce a winner so the tie went into penalties. In the shoot-out Lumley lead 3-2 thanks to Steven Coxen saving twice, then Steven Gelson stepped forward and made no mistake sending Lumley into next round.
Sacriston WMC were winners at Chester Garden Farm and New Herrington WMC were winners over visitors Langley Park WMC.
In the Durham Driveways Trophy First Round, Ushaw Moor Cricket Club from the Third Division entertained Ferryhill WMC, who are currently third in the Second Division. A tight first half ended goalless with Ushaw Moor keeper Tony Nyland pulling off a couple of decent saves to deny Ferryhill. Ushaw Moor forward Barrie Messer should have scored early in the first half but in a one-on-one situation with the Ferryhill keeper Michael Brown he rounded to fire wide. Ferryhill took the lead ten minutes into the second half with Dave Hewitson finishing off a move following a Ferryhill corner. Ushaw Moor equalised ten minutes later with Barrie Messer slotting home from 15 yards after some good work from Gary Brown. Scott Harding sealed things with a 20 yard effort. This was his first goal for Ushaw Moor in three years. Ferryhill flooded the Ushaw Moor half but to no avail as the home side hung on.
In the Second Round of the same competition Newton Hall Jovial Monk progressed to the next round with a fine 3-1 away win at Fatfield Biddick Inn. Lee Baxter had opened the scoring for the Biddick, but goals from John Gott, Garry Mitchell and Chris Taylor saw the Monkmen through.
Gilesgate Moor Hotel were comfortable winners 9-0 at Langley Park Sports and Social, Brandon Sports entertained Durham Coach and Eight with Mickey Fort hitting a hat-trick along with goals from Scott Hobson and Gordon Blakelock gave them a 5-2 win.
In the Durham City AFC Supporters Trophy Second Round favourites to win the trophy Durham City WMC easily progressed to the next round beating visitors Coxhoe WMC 5-0. Top marksman Paul Richardson hit a fine hat-trick with strike partner Paul Newman adding a further two goals.
Houghton Mill All Stars travelled to Belmont Sportsman's Arms and it was third time lucky for Houghton Mill All Stars as their cup-tie went to a golden goal finale for the third time in as many weeks. The Mill AllStars had lost their previous two golden goal finishes but this time it was Belmont Sportsman's Arms who were the unlucky losers.
Mill AllStars were 3-0 up within the first 30 minutes with two Graham Stoker goals and one from Kevin Johnston. However, Belmont Sportsman's Arms fought back to 3-3 with goals from Phil Lloyd, Graham Dixon and Alan Beveridge to send the game into extra time. An evenly balanced extra period was eventually decided when Mill AllStars were awarded a direct free-kick 25 yards out from the Belmont Sportsman's goal. Graham Hoban stepped up and crashed the ball into the roof of the net giving home keeper Chris Gill no chance.
A hat-trick from Chris Staples plus a fine strike from Darran Robson gave Burnmoor Dun Cow a 4-3 away win at Washington Lambton Village and Richard Mellett despite scoring a hat-trick for the Lambton Village ended up on the losing side. Jamie Nicholson scored the consolation goal for the Pelton Fleece, as they were beaten 6-1 at Ouston Red Lion.
