Fairs Software Tyneside Junior League: Chester-le-Street extended their lead at the top of the table to three points when they defeated Prudhoe Town 6-2, while New Hartley, who were in second position, went down to North Tyneside College.
The Cestrians made no mistake in their home fixture, however, and hat-trick by Andrew Bullford and Martin Urwin always had the visitors on the defensive. Although Gavin Courtney struck twice for Prudhoe, they ended well beaten.
Seaham Red Star moved into second position just three points adrift of Chester-le-Street with two games in hand. They maintained their 100 per cent record defeating Consett 7-1 as goals flowed from Daniel Appleby with a hat-trick, Robbie Blemmings, Nicky Martin, Steve Ashman and Andy Readymarcher.
North Tyneside College won for only the second time in eight attempts when they defeated New Hartley 2-0. Their hero was Stuart Nicholson, who bagged a brace of goals. In the remaining fixture Whitley Bay also recorded their second win of the season at West Denton where they ended 3-1 winners.
Rohm and Haas JOC Hetton Youth League
Lumley, fielding a depleted side, suffered their heaviest defeat for some time when they went down to Ryhope in the Subsidiary Cup. The Cestrians fielded just ten men, but almost held their own during the opening 45 minutes. It was a different picture after the break, however, as the Wearsiders romped to an 8-1 victory. David Smith was Lumley's only marksman, while for Ryhope Kris Maxwell celebrated his debut by scoring five time. Man of the match Michael Patterson, Matthew Raine and David Miles also found the target.
The Subsidiary Cup is played for on a league basis and Jarrow St Bedes extended their lead at the top to five points when they defeated Sacriston 3-0. Following a goalless first half, Stephen Green gave the home side the lead and when Liam Clarke added a second goal Sacriston faced an uphill battle. Green added his second to complete a 3-0 victory for St Bedes.
Durham County Council Lomax Enterprises Youth League
Willington's lead at the top of the table was reduced to a single point when they were defeated in their home fixture with Washington Dunlop, who moved into third position.
The home side led at the interval with a goal by man of the match Dale Dunn, but in the second period Washington took command and ended comfortably ahead.
Bill Clark equalised and Craig Knowlson put Dunlop in front for the first time. When Nicholas Hatziconstaniou made it 3-1, there was no way back for Willington.
Darlington Spraire Lads and Gateshead Redheugh shared in a 2-2 draw. John McKie was on target for Darlington in the opening half when Luke Thirlwell also found the net for Redheugh who then went ahead early in the second 45 minutes through Tony Thirkeld.
The Reds produced some quality football during the later stages of the game, but with just three minutes remaining Darlington's performance earned them a point when Chris Smith grabbed the equaliser.
Consett Badgers are still without a win following five attempts. They went down 5-1 at home to Trimdon United when Consett's only scorer was Martin Musgrave.
Darlington Albion
Albion Under-12s played Thirsk in their best performance of the season. Albion fell behind in first five minutes but Lee Barnes scored the equaliser after Dale McPherson put in a superb cross. Straight from kick off man of the match Lewis Brown collected the ball on the wing and took a shot from 20 yards out which resulted in the best goal of the season. Jamie Brown then scored a stunning goal with a volley from ten yards out that hit the top corner of the net. Second half saw Albion miss a few great chances but they did not concede any resulting in 3-1 victory.
Albion Under-14s were away to Coulby Newham saw a game of two halfs. The first half Albion with the wind against them went 2 - 0 down, but the second half saw Albion's determination pay off with a penalty from Kev Sung and two outstanding goals from Shaun Marshall, a lucky goal from Coulby made final result 3-3. Man of the match was Matthew Phillips.
The Albion Under-10s were away to Northallerton and in game one lost 7-0, in game two they lost 4-1 with the scorer being J Carr. They lost game three 1-0 and drew game four 0-0.

New County North Durham Youth League
Leam Rangers and Redheugh share the leadership for the U16 division after both won at the weekend. But whereas Redheugh were hard pressed before securing a 4-3 victory at Birtley, Leam Rangers romped to a 9-0 success over Rutherford. Greg Stephenson bagged a brace of goals for the Reds at Birtley, who pressed their visitors all the way, but Rutherford faired badly when they entertained Leam Rangers for whom Lee Turnbull scored three goals in a 9-0 success.
A brace of goals by Scott Nicholson earned Consett a 2-2 draw with Ryton and Blaydon and South Moor also shared the points in a 2-2 result. Lee Craggs and David Jackson were on target for Blaydon with Clark, Coulson and Mark McKinney replying for South Moor.
In the U17 division Redheugh have a six points lead over Red House. The hammered Consett 10-0 as the goals flowed from Chris Wilson (4), George Whitfield (3) and Chris Pearson (3). Red House moved ahead of South Moor, who were without a game, into second position. They defeated Winlaton 4-1 when Paul Jackson was another player to score three times.
Two goals by Robbie Dixon featured in a 4-4 draw for Leam Rangers at home to Blackfyne and Stephen Locke also found the net on two occasions as Birtley edged Cowgate 4-3. Beamish suffered a 7-1 reverse visiting Cleveland Hall for whom Greg Graham, Liam Docherty and Chris Drummond all scored twice.
