Police are hunting a driver who failed to stop after her car struck a teenager.
A 15-year-old girl and her friends were crossing Passfield Way in Peterlee, near St Bede's Church, and were mid-way across the road when the purple car hit her.
The girl, from Hale Rise in the town, was thrown to the ground and was treated in hospital for slight injuries.
The incident happened at 1pm on Thursday and police say the car was some form of super-mini and the driver was a blonde-haired female. Anyone with information should call PC Brendan Jackson on 0191-586 2621.
