Darlington Harriers: At the Richmond Castle 10km on Sunday, October 19 on a very testing, hilly course, Ben Wilson ran an excellent race to finish first Harrier in 16th place in a time of 37mins 25secs, holding off the ever improving Jack Mason in 17th place in 37.56.

Other finishers: Paul Kelly 20th in 38.31, Alison Raw 26th 39.35 and second female Ian Barnes 81st 43.19, John Brant 201st 51.33, Harry Prince 231st 53.29, Steve Dauber 234th 53.37 and Annette Hubery 65.01.

Jack Mason ran the inaugural Inov eight-mile trail race through Hamsterley Forest on October 12 finishing in fifth place and second male 40 in 54.35, Peter Horsley finished 78th in 67.46, Jack also ran the Selby half-marathon finishing 20th in 1:20.12. Ronnie Read finished 25th in 1:22.53, Steve Dauber also competed.

OSunday, October 12 the first Inov-8 trail race was held in Hamsterley Forest.

The race was organised to race funs for Weardale's Search & Rescue Stan's Van Appeal and over £600 was raised.

The course consisted of a scenic eight miles on trails around the Forest with a couple of steep climbs just to ensure the views were appreciated!

Richard Burney from Liverpool Harriers was first home in an amazing time of 49:28.

The next Durham Dales Fell Race will be held on Sunday, November 2. Ayhope Skyline consists of 2155 feet over 13 miles in Hamsterley Forest. Registration and start is from the Grove car park. GR 067 299. The course will be partially marked. Over-18s only for the main race. Start time is 11.00 am. Entry fee £4.50 (includes forest tolls and parking). A 2 mile Junior Fell Race will be held at 11.15 am.
