St. Augustines scored five goals for the third consecutive game, this time beating the Fighting Cocks 5-1, this also extended St. Augustines' winning streak to five matches.
The first half was a closely contested game but goals from Michael Kipling and man of the match Paul Stanton ensured a comfortable half time lead for the home side, within the first five minutes of the re-start it was 3-0 with a fine strike from Stephen Piper. A moment of indecision in the home defence allowed Steven McGurk to pull a goal back for the visitors, but when Piper completed his hat-trick with two further goals in the second half, the points were secure, an excellent team performance for the home side with Damian Wynne excellent in the centre of their midfield.
The Highland Laddie got off to a great start against Sherwoods, going a goal up within the first five minutes, when man of the match Chris Holiday, fired in a spectacular shot. The Laddie looked in total control, but Sherwoods drew level just before the break when Wayne Turner fired home from the penalty spot. The second half was a more even affair, with Laddie just having the greater share of the possession, and firing against the woodwork three times, before Holiday added his second, with new signing David Alderson rounding of an impressive debut with a 20 yard drive into the bottom corner of the visitors net for the home side's third goal, great work by home keeper Dave Thompson, who pulled of a string of great saves in the second half to keep all three points at home with a 3-1 victory.
The Falchion's recent good form continued as they beat fellow promotion hopefulls AXA Insurance 2-1. With both sides playing well there was little to choose between them, as the chances were few and far between, although it was the visitors who struck first to lead 1-0 at the break. Having scored a 40-yard lob earlier in the season James Barber notched another great goal, this time scoring acrobatically from close range. The second half belonged to the home side as they raised their game and got on level terms when Mike Watt fired home who then doubled his tally from the spot after he was adjusted to have been obstruced. AXA could not come back after the penalty was converted and finished without a point for a second consecutive game.
Haughton emerged the victors against AFC Aruba, following some early pressure Haughton took the lead when Paul Legg held off two defenders, kept his cool and fired home from ten yards, this was very much the way of the first half with Haughton doing all the pressing, but poor finishing in front of goal and excellent work by Dale Sanderson in the visitors goal kept the score at 1-0 after the first 45 minutes. The second half saw Aruba come more into the game and the reward for the extra effort was an equaliser, a long ball up field was misread by the Haughton keeper Andy Rea, leaving Steven Murphy with an empty net and he finished well from 30 yards, this set up a storming finish as both teams pushed forward looking for the winner, and it was Haughton who got the winner when a spell of sustained pressure led to a corner and Paul Cooper headed home from the resultant kick to make the final score 2-1 to Haughton.
MN All Stars took on Newton Cap and came out 4-2 winners. All Stars took an early lead in this top of the table encounter when Lee Harding fired home, both sides had chances before Darren Thompson added a second for the All Stars. Michael Latcham then pulled a goal back for the Cappers, and the teams went into the break 2-1 to the home side. In the second half it was no surprise when leading scorer Steve Howden added a third and when Thompson added his second with a stunning strike to give the visitors keeper Tyrone Moore no chance, the game seemed to be won, but the Cappers came back again and Neil Pannica added a second, but this proved to be a consolation as the All Stars took all three points.
Goodfellas made it seven games unbeaten after a 1-1 draw against Drinkfield while Royal Oak beat Cricketers 2-1 win.
