The top game of the day once again involved Pepper DS who were pushed all the way in a 13-goal thriller against Smurfit, with PDS coming out 7-6 winners with the prolific Mark Stephenson hitting four and one apiece for Fred Hall, Michael Carter and Mark Finn, on target for Smurfit were man of the match Dave Abdale who hit two along with Trevor Ford and Paul Tills with a goal each and Mike Weston chipped in with two goals, but it was not enough to resuce a point against the divisions leading side.
Berlins travelled to Aycliffe to play the Royal British Legion and came away with a 2-1 victory.
Middleton St George continued their excellent start to the season with a convincing victory over FRA Mowden, the game began with FRA in control and looking the mostly likely to break the deadlock, but after soaking up the pressure the home side took the lead when man of the match Mark Brischuk put the first real opprotunity the home side created in the back of the net, with a good finish. From then the home side took the initiative, Phil Liversedge added a second before the break. In the second half it was more of the same as MSG ran away with the game and the impressive Michael Cairns sealed his second hat-trick of the season, to give three points and a 5-0 victory to a team well in contention for the second division title.
The Northern Echo played hosts to The Hole In The Wall and although the Echo dominated play in the first half they found themselves 2-0 down at the break after two defensive errors let in Stu Fawcett and Darren Scott to score for the visitors.
The second 45 minutes saw the Echo continue to be in control of the game but as in the first half plenty of chances were created, but poor finished let the home side down, the Echo pulled a goal back when Darren Henderson converted a penalty after John Hewitt was brought, down in the final 15 minutes with the Echo pressing for an equaliser the goal came after some good work from Darren Stanley who got his reward as he rounded the keeper to slot home to level the scores at 2-2, both sides then had chances to win the game in the final minutes, but the game ended with the points shared.
