Photographers face Diana trial
Three photographers go on trial in Paris today for taking pictures at the scene of the 1997 car crash in which Princess Diana and her boyfriend Dodi Fayed died.
The trial, the latest judicial proceedings surrounding the crash, stems from a criminal complaint for invasion of privacy filed by Dodi Fayed's father, Mohammed Al Fayed.
GENOCIDE SUSPECT: Poland is seeking the extradition from Israel of an 83-year-old Polish-born Jew, Solomon Morel, on charges of genocide for the deaths of German prisoners in a communist camp he commanded after the Second World War.

DEATH CHARGE: A Baath Party official who died in a detention camp in Iraq suffocated after a US Marine grabbed him by the neck and snapped a bone in his throat.The Marine and his direct superior are charged with negligent homicide.
WALL STAYS: Israel's vice premier rejected an overwhelming call by the UN to dismantle a massive barrier being built along the line with the West Bank. "The fence will continue to be built," Ehud Olmert said.
