A NEW waterslide at a Darlington leisure centre has been named Lightning Slide and will open to the public tomorrow.
Andrew Morrison, seven, from Middleton St George, came up with the name for the slide at the Dolphin Centre. It was chosen from 140 entries in a competition open to youngsters across the borough.
The centre's new toddler pool will also reopen to the public this weekend with interactive features including water-jetting characters. The works cost £70,000.
Andrew will receive a one-year pass for free swimming at the Dolphin Centre and runner- up Nicole Harrison, nine, from Darlington, wins a morning's free swimming and pool party for herself and her classmates tomorrow.
