They kept their discipline and shape and were rewarded with two tremendous goals from Bennett and Kennedy. Final score was Norton 2, Stockton West End 3.
The game between Lingdale and Norton Under-13 B's was a great advert for those who realise developing junior sides is not just about winning games. Norton put in a terrific performance earning praise from the Lingdale manager who described them afterwards as a great footballing side. Adam Iveson returned to his best form and delivered a man of the match performance and Norton couldn't understand how they went in at half time 0-0.Lingdale took advantage with a goal straight after the break, but Norton levelled through Jamma following a great pass from Michael Bell. Pushing hard to take all three points, Norton were caught out by a strong run & finish from Lingdale's centre forward. Stockton Town
Stockton Under-10s played against Newton Aycliffe Sports Club C and both teams started brightly however it was Stockton that dominated the early possession. Although several chances were created Stockton were unable unlock a very assured Newton Aycliffe defensive three.
In the second half Stockton introduced substitutes Everson and Dowson and this ensured that the attacking impetus remained with the Home Team. Stocktons endeavour was rewarded early in the second half with a superb strike from Shayn Duck, lobbing the keeper from all of 20 yards.
Newton Aycliffe tried their best to get back into the game however the Stockton defensive trio of Luke Woollaston, Thomas Woollaston and Jonathon Higgins together with Goalkeeper and Captain for the day Martin Craven, were rarely troubled.
Stockton's man of the match award went to Thomas Woollaston.
Stockton Town Under-11s began their match against Nunthorpe in the driving rain with a cold wind in their face. Stockton opened the scoring after only two minutes after a goal kick from Anthony Cameron was picked up on the wing by Adam Layfield who passed to Ian Durant who ran into the box and struck the ball over the diving keeper.
Nunthorpe, to their credit came, back strongly and scored two goals from corners which seem to be their speciality. The start of the second half saw Nunthorpe increase their lead to 3-1 with a well-taken goal, following good work on the
right wing. Stockton got back into the match when the busy Ian Durant was fouled in the penalty area. Tom Crossen converted the penalty, the goalkeeper was unlucky as he got a strong hand to it but couldn't keep it out. The scores were level at 3-3 when Ian Durant rounded the keeper after being put clean through for his second goal of the game. A draw looked the most likely result until three minutes of injury time were added. Four substitutions had to made by Stockton because of injuries. The final twist in the game came when a hopeful punt into the box by Nunthorpe dipped under the bar for a 4-3 victory to the home side. The man of the match for Stockton was Bradley Heads for his
continuous hard work in midfield and defence.
Coxhoe Boys
The Under-15s played outstandingly well but were unable to overcome a strong Boldon Colts side in the Russell Foster Youth League Cup.
Boldon are unbeaten in two and a half years but despite this Coxhoe put in another good performance although strikers, Michael Owens and John Dodd, both put in below par performances.
However, goalkeeper, Tom Orton, excelled. Tom, who is nearly two years younger than his teammates, pulled-off five great saves but was unable to do anything about any of the four goals Boldon scored.
Coxhoe don't have a game this weekend but are at Shildon the weekend after and following that face Town Castle Rovers who, like Coxhoe, remained unbeaten in the League.
Thirsk Falcons
Thirsk Falcons Under-12s had their third match of the season travelling to Darlington Albion. Thirsk started well and within minutes had a corner which Albion cleared only as far as a Thirsk defender whose shot was straight at the keeper. Joe Barwick received the ball and blasted it into the net passed the keeper. Then followed a period of pressure by Albion who scored their equaliser. Thirsk pressed again but Albion on the counter scored their second. Albion with a high lob added a third. Albion led 3-1 at half time and that was the final score too.
