THE following cases were heard at South Durham Youth Court, in Darlington, yesterday:
OFFENCE ADMITTED: A 17-year-old Darlington youth admitted resisting arrest during a brawl in Bondgate, Darlington, on October 18, and was fined £100. He was also fined £75 after he admitted driving without insurance or a proper licence. His provisional licence was endorsed.
DRUNK TEENAGER: A 15-year-old Darlington boy admitted being drunk and disorderly on October 13, after police saw him in Darlington town centre so drunk he fell over a bollard before urinating in an alleyway. He was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £40 costs.
FIREWORKS CHARGE: A 15-year-old boy denied stealing fireworks from Bells Stores, in Corporation Road, Darlington, on October 13. The case was adjourned to November 7.
ALLEGATION DENIED: A 16-year-old boy from Darlington pleaded not guilty to taking a car without consent, but guilty to driving a car without insurance or a licence. The case was adjourned to November 28.
youth fined: A 17-year-old Darlington youth pleaded guilty to driving a car without a licence, insurance or an MOT certificate on August 11. Magistrates fined him £75 for driving without insurance, and his provisional licence was endorsed.
NO LICENCE: A 17-year-old student from Newton Aycliffe admitted driving a car without a licence or insurance on August 31. He was fined £75 for driving without insurance, his provisional licence was endorsed and he was ordered to pay £35 costs.
THEFT ACCUSATION: A 15-year-old Darlington youth charged with stealing a bicycle on October 7 denied the offence. The hearing was adjourned to November 28.
DRIVING CHARGES: A 15-year-old charged with riding a motorbike without a licence or insurance on August 22 denied the charges. The case was adjourned to November 28.
