AN allotment plot where future generations of children can learn about gardening was opened at the weekend.
Teenagers from Parkside School have created the Children's Garden at the Rosedale and Victoria allotments, in Willington.
Primary schools will use it as an outdoor classroom.
The Parkside pupils, working as Parkside XL and led by teacher John Hattle, were helped by apprentices from S and D Training.
North-West Durham MP and Government Chief Whip Hilary Armstrong performed the opening ceremony on Saturday.
