Shildon'S footballers beat Stocksbridge Park Steels 6-0 on Saturday to give the Northern League side a place in the first round proper of the FA Cup for the first time in 42 years.
In the next round, to be played on November 8, the County Durham team will play at Notts County, the world's oldest club.
The game attracted more than 1,000 fans, the club's highest gate for many years, and the win means Shildon are now the lowest-ranked club left in the competition.
