THE people of Wensleydale are getting the chance to have a say on ways to improve their area's wildlife and heritage.
They are being invited to attend two open days to help shape the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority's Area Actions initiative, and help the development of Richmondshire's Community Strategy.
The Area Actions initiative will work with local communities in the mid-Wensleydale area to identify what work they would like to see done to improve their area's heritage and the public's understanding and enjoyment of them.
Suggestions and ideas that fall within the service provision of Richmondshire District Council will be taken forward through the council's community strategy.
The first open day will held at West Burton village hall from midday to 6.30pm on Wednesday. The second will be held at Middleham Key Centre from midday to 6.30pm on November 4.
Wensleydale area ranger Nigel Metcalfe said: "The initiative for Wensleydale is an extension of successful schemes we have been running in other areas of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
"The open days provide a great opportunity for residents to make sure we keep in step with their wishes.
"We welcome all ideas, from walls and barns work, improvements to rights of way and the care of wildlife through to initiatives to improve local community services and local transport."
