A FORMER nunnery in Grangetown, which opened as a day nursery three years ago, is celebrating another new look.
Priory Day Nursery, run by Yvonne and Bob Cook, has benefited from a £115,900 refurbishment, paid for by the Government's Neighbourhood Nursery initiative, adding another 16 places to its 30-place provision.
Mrs Cook said: "The funding is just marvellous. We are providing something that is really needed for the area, and we seem to have come such a long way since we opened three years ago."
Alison McKenna, the Neighbourhood Nursery's project officer and Redcar and Cleveland Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership's business support and finance officer, said: "We are delighted with the extra places, which can only help the initiative that is aiming to give parents the opportunity for a return to work and training."
