AN auction and Halloween party is being held on Friday to help fund a fight to stop a waste transfer station being built near Barnard Castle.
The Stainton Grove Action Group is holding the event at the Jersey Farm Hotel, Barnard Castle, from 7.30pm.
Lots on offer include the use of the Jersey Farm function room and disco.
Co-ordinator, Ruth Renton, said: "We have now submitted an appeal against the refusal of permission for a judicial review and hope to hear about that in November. Any money left over from this when it is over, will be used for a community project."
Entry to the auction night costs £2, with children under 16 admitted free. Tickets are available at the door, or by calling (01833) 638135.
