OPEN DAY: Glenholme Youth Centre and Boys Club in Crook is holding an open day tomorrow to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
The centre will be open between noon and 3pm. There will also be a free pop art workshop, and a circus skills workshop from 7pm to 9pm.
HISTORY DISPLAY: Stanley Village History Club is organising an exhibition of photographs and other memorabilia on Saturday and and Sunday, between 10am and 4pm, in the village hall.
REMEMBRANCE DAY: The Remembrance Day parade and service in Crook on Sunday, November 9, will start at 2.30pm from the Health Centre in Hope Street for a 3pm service in St Catherine's Church. A wreath-laying ceremony will be held at the Cenotaph at 3.40pm.
FLOWER SHOW: Willington Chrysanthemum Society will hold its annual exhibition on Saturday, November 8, at the Lydia Street Chapel, Church Hall, at 3.30pm. WATCH MEETING: The next meeting of Howden-le-Wear Neighbourhood Watch will be next Monday, at 7pm, in the local community centre.
HALLOWEEN PARTY: The Green pub in Billy Row, Crook, is holding a fancy dress Halloween party on Friday, at 7pm, to raise funds for the village firework display on Wednesday, November 5.
SALE CASH: Stanley Way Residents' Association raised £105 with a table-top sale on Saturday.
CHURCH FUNDS: Crook Methodist Church raised £146 with a jumble sale on Saturday.
