CHILDREN were given a lesson in citizenship when housing association staff visited their classroom for a community project.
Pupils from the Blessed John Duckett RC Primary School, in Tow Law, passed the seven-week course with flying colours.
Home Housing Association tenancy enforcement officers Lee Dunn and Martin Scurr were pleased with the youngsters' performance.
They covered topics such as respecting their elders, bullying in and out of school, litter and vandalism and keeping their rooms tidy.
Mr Dunn said: "It has been a really good initiative and we have all enjoyed it. Not all the children live in our properties, but we hope we can build a rapport with them all and encourage them to spread the message through their community."
Mr Scurr presented certificates to the children, who will all be taken on an outing to Beamish Museum.
