A Middlesbrough fan who fell asleep during his team's 4-0 defeat against Arsenal will stand trial accused of being drunk at a football ground.
Adrian Carr, 28, had hoped the case would be thrown out but he was told today at Teesside Magistrates' Court he will face a two-day trial.
The defendant, of Caithness Road, Teesville, Middlesbrough, denies being drunk at the Riverside Stadium on August 28.
Since the match the machinist, who works at an engineering factory, has been stopped from using his £370 season ticket.
A pre-trial review of the case will be heard at Teesside Magistrates' Court in four weeks and Carr will stand trial in February next year.
