RESCUERS were called after reports of a car over the edge of a cliff.
Skinningrove and Staithes coastguards were called out at 2pm on Sunday to reports of a car over the cliff at Cowbar, Staithes, North Yorkshire
The car had been set on fire, sent over the edge of the cliff and was stuck on a ledge.
A coastguard spokesman said: "Cleveland Police requested that Skinningrove cliff team send one of the lads down to check that there was no one inside, and no one was found."
Officers were then sent to investigate reports of someone on the edge of a cliff about 50 yards from the car. However, it turned out to be a fisherman.
