WEAR Valley District Council has its fireworks spectacular on Tuesday at Bishop Auckland Rugby Club.
A funfair gets under way at 5.30pm in time for council chairman Margaret Douthwaite to light the bonfire at 7pm.
The fireworks and music show starts at 7.20pm. Children from Cockton Hill School have used recycled materials to put together their own display based on the legend of the Phoenix, which arose out of its own ashes. Admission is free.
Spennymoor Town Council has a bonfire and fireworks display on Wednesday at Carr Lane, opposite High Whitworth. The bonfire is lit at 7pm with fireworks starting at 7.30pm.
There are amusements and refreshments with all proceeds going to the mayor's charity appeal.
Willington FC is selling football memorabilia at its display on Monday. It starts at 7pm and there are refreshments.
