A GROUP of police officers have taken part in a bicycle ride to help raise money for charity.
The eight officers, from Cleveland Police, raised more than £1,300 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association when they took part in the 140-mile Coast to Coast ride earlier this year.
PC Steve Murphy said: "We raised the money in memory of one of our colleagues, Peter Frain, a serving sergeant at Hartlepool, who died the three years ago, when he was 34 years old.
"The ride took three days to complete and we battled against torrential wind and rain en route, but we did enjoy ourselves and plans are already under way for next year's ride"
The officers presented Luke Rutter, from the association, with a cheque on Tuesday.
