NORTH Yorkshire businesses are being asked to help stage an educational play in which the audience must pedal to keep the action going.
The sound system of the play, which will take place in Scarborough, will be powered by the audience pedalling a bank of cycles, however the organisers do not have a dynamo to convert the cycle energy into electrical energy.
Scarborough Borough Council's environment and sustainability officer, Daniel O'Connor, said: "The process of putting on the play will both increase confidence, creativity, social interaction and raise energy awareness among children and audience.
"The only thing we still need is a dynamo to harness all the pedal power of the audience and turn it into electricity to keep the sound system up and running.
"I would appeal to any local firms that either stock dynamos, or can get them, to get in touch and help us with this production."
