THE crew of Durham's adopted warship arrives for a five-day visit to the region this weekend.
HMS Invincible will arrive at North Shields, tomorrow, for the visit, during which it will host a conference about naval careers.
Members of the 700 crew of Invincible, the Navy's flagship, will visit Durham for a number of functions.
On Saturday, there will be a golf competition at Durham City Golf Club and a reception at the town hall for 200 ratings.
Captain Trevor Soar will join Mayor Ray Gibbon at the launch of a duck race from Elvet Bridge, at 12.30pm on Sunday, while on Monday a team from the Invincible will take on Durham City Football Club at the Archibald Stadium, at 7.30pm.
