The Royal Oak and Haughton played out a ten-goal thriller with the visitors coming out on top 6-4.
Haughton took an early lead through a speculative effort from Paul Cooper that squirmed through the Preston Slades' hands into the net. Despite constant Oak pressure, Haughton doubled their lead when Karl Lockwood scored the first of his four-goal haul. There was still time for the Oak to get back into the game though as Stu Boughen latched on to a John Woods flick to make the score 2-1 at the break. The Oak came out fired up for the second 45 minutes and Boughen brought the scores level by lofting the ball over the on rushing keeper. The Oak failed to capitalise on their possession and gradually Haughton turned the screw with Lockwood beating the offside trap to restore the lead. Lockwood then rounded off his hat-trick. Boughen grabbed his hat trick to bring the scores back to 3-4, but Lockwood then grabbed his fourth to restore a two goal lead for Haughton. The Oak would not lie down and Boughen won a penalty which Woods stroked into the net. However, again Haughton scored, this time through Paul Legg, to seal the 6-4 victory.
Axa will be glad to see the back of October, a month which has seen them lose all four games, scoring just once. The latest side to profit from Axa's slide were The Highland Laddie, who ran out 5-0 winners. The visitors were 2-0 up through a double strike from Gareth Hodgson, before Axa carved out their first opportunity; striker Alan Percival blazed over with only the keeper to beat. Any hopes Axa may have had of staging a comeback vanished when Andy Ponsford scored the goal of the game with a stunning 20 yard curling effort with the outside of his left boot. Axa had a much better period after the break, but could not make the breakthrough so it was no surprise when David Alderson lashed home number four. Jamie Irvine finished the scoring towards the end.
AFC Aruba entertained the league's in form team, St Augustines and the visitors ran out 4-1 winners. St. Augustine's had the man of the match and match winner, in the exceptional Michael Kipling, who scored all four goals, included were a penalty and a fortunate touch to divert a miscued clearance into the net, but the others were brilliant finishes at the end of runs which saw him beat several defenders.
The game between Sherwoods and Drinkfield saw Drinkfield open the scoring. Sherwoods equalised through Steve Park before Drinkfield found the net twice more. After 20 minutes of the second half Drinkfield converted a penalty to make the score 1-4 and put the game beyond Sherwoods. Drinkfield added two more to make the final score 6-1. Scorers were Wayne Smith, Mark Grant, Carl Eeles, Daniel Eeles and Carl Jenkinson (2).
Fighting Cocks entertained the Falchion and the visitors came away with all three points. Mike Watt, Gary Tibbett jnr and Andy Hawkins (2) were on target. Johnny McWilliams scored a penalty for the home side.
Goodfellas visited Newton Cap and the sides drew 3-3.
