Nestfield came out with all guns blazing in a very competitive game against visitors AFC Brinkburn.
Adi Weston opened the scoring with a left foot volley that left Brinkburn keeper, Gordon Davies, rooted to the spot.
Kev Baines put Nestfield further in front with a superb header into the top corner, Garry Mitchell then made it three with a great solo effort and when man of the match Martin Smith made it 4-0 before the break it completed an excellent first 45 minutes for the home side. The second half started were the first finished with the home side going 5-0 into the lead with Baines grabbing his second of the game, Mitchell then made it two on the day and 6-0 for Nestfield, five minutes later Weston became the third player to hit a brace when he made it 7-0. Brinkburn grabbed a consolation goal, but with Kevin Weir coming off the bench to hit an unstoppable 20 yard shot to complete the scoring and an 8-1 home victory
Newton Aycliffe Sports Club travelled to Spraire RA and came away with a 4-1 victory, goals from John Shotton, Carl Black and two from Paul Stout saw the visitors to a 4-1 victory with Darren Kokes grabbing the consolation goal for the home side. Shuttle and Loom enjoyed a 4-1 home victory over Brinkburn Wanderers, with Paul Eagle, Warren Moncur and a double strike from Chris Airey sealing the victory, while Jamil Albarq found the net for the visitors.
