THERE was a warm front when TV weatherman Bob Johnson opened the new community wing at a village primary school.
The Tyne Tees presenter, renowned for his dislike of 'skitey bits', delighted youngsters from the reception class at Pittington Primary School by reading them a story called Mrs Mopple's Washing Line.
"It is from a story sack made by our parents and fittingly enough it is a weather story," said head Rory Metcalfe.
The extension, which has cost £80,000, will be a 'one-stop shop in term's of children's education', said Mr Metcalfe.
Visitors will be able to use the story sacks and a musical instrument library and there will also be a medical room. A community playground is also being built.
